Plot: During the late 19th century, Great Britain has become the greatest empire the world has ever known. Hidden within its success, the nation's rigid economic hierarchy dictates the value of one's life solely on status and wealth. To no surprise, the system favors the aristocracy at the top and renders it impossible for the working class to ascend the ranks.

William James Moriarty, the second son of the Moriarty household, lives as a regular noble while also being a consultant for the common folk to give them a hand and solve their problems. However, deep inside him lies a desire to destroy the current structure that dominates British society and those who benefit from it.

Alongside his brothers Albert and Louis, the trio will do anything it takes to change the filthy world they live in—even if blood must be spilled.

User Review: The ambition is demonic. He acts villain and kills bad people. To dominate London as a sea of flames. His name is William James Moriarty. The man is called anti-Sherlock Holmes.

Yuukoku no Moriarty (Moriarty the Patriot) is about William and his brothers. They are active behind the scenes everywhere to suppress the British Empire. An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. This show is based on Arthur Conan Doyle's novel series. There is no contradiction in terms of plot relatively. I heard some changes from manga though, I didn't care about them. Because this show has very well-written characters, interesting and great mysteries, the key difference of noble and citizen. Noble is depicted as a villain. William is citizen side. I'll mention William. He is an amazingly intelligent and aesthetic MC. Every enemy has no choice but to kneel on him for a moment. He has absolute charisma so much. Voice acting is also quite nice. Souma Saitou's voice is fitting William perfectly and acting him very well. You'll love William quickly. Despite he is a villain, I wanna support him strongly. It's not only that. William can understand citizens' feelings. He hates noble from his heart because they repress citizens without the right reason. William must erase all dirty existence like them. He has important people. Albert and Louis. They're William's irreplaceable brothers, family. You can understand by watching this excellent show why their bonds are very film than ordinary people. Especially Albert is delicate in a good way. He is the oldest son. William and his meeting are the beginning of everything. They're connected fateful chain including Louis...if you know historical fact. Like this, the main theme is coherent. If you're intriguing William, you're drawn into his mathematical thinking. True strength for him is a brain. On the other hand, Sherlock Holmes in this show is the most ideal form for me. Not generic and boring at all. He is clever as same as William. In addition, he is cheerful, bright, approachable. His purpose is searching for the person who drove him to solve further mysteries. This Sherlock loves mysteries anyway. Curiosity killed the cat but he is unrelated to it. He is not an arrogant man. He is very kind and cherishes people. William and Sherlock. Two relationships are very wonderful. Toward the end of the story, two psychological warfare becomes incandescent in various ways. Worth watching including this show itself.

The plot is episodic and has almost two-episode compositions. Each story is never boring. Thanks to William's attractiveness, every case has a very deep meaning. In other words, everything is connected. Early-stage is remarkable. The first episode is anime original though, quite interesting at this point. Because we can know crime's fear and needlessness. Although William is doing crime. The visuals are so beautiful and well-made. Production I.G never betray us in terms of animation. Almost all the characters are very cool and handsome. I love it. The most important point is music. What an eargasm. OP/ED songs are perfect for this series. Citizen hope is DYING WISH. The soul inherited crime master called William. ALPHA is one of the best anime songs for me. I'm repeating this song regularly. This song is expressing self-sacrifice sinner. Needless to say, William's family. Both full versions are cool more than the TV size. At least you should listen to ALPHA's full version. There is ultimately addictive. If one does that, you'll have a deeper understanding of this show.

Except for some flaws, this show is awesome and became one of my favorites. I love this kind of setting and theme.
Please don't forget this. Every work is never perfect. Like this show isn't perfect, Doyle's novels also not perfect. However, we can make works close to perfect. Eternal is a symbol of living.
